Inktober

I'll be back on patreon soon, just been busy on inktober every day and getting ready for CTN in Burbank, California. You guys should check out my instagram though, that's where I've been posted the daily doodles in honor of inktober. Here's a particular one that was the most popular out of all my instagram posts. It's not a ridiculous amount of likes but hey, it's something and it's a big improvement compared to my othe posts.

Inktober has definitely forced me to practice and has pushed me to explore my favorite subjects. I'm realizing more and more how I enjoy television and music in particular and how they're my go to when I want to draw. Here's Natalia Lafourcade's doodle portrait when I was listening to "Hasta La Raíz".

Today specifically, was a special day. I went to a best friend of mine's baby shower. We've been friends since we were about 9 which makes it seventeen years of friendship thus far (and many more to come!). I was super happy to see her considering that as adults, life takes over and makes us really busy. She only lives an hour away and I'm disappointed in myself for not visiting or hanging out with her more often. However this baby shower was a good way of pushing me to be disciplined and set a time and date for me to finally see her. It was a good time and was a good excuse to make a good card for her. Here's two doodles that I drew on the on the card that I gave her.

One special touch I give to cards that I gift to people I know is always making a different "publishing co." on the back. I do my best to come up with a theme for the card and that determines the publishing company's logo, it's always a fun time!

Now I feel like this post is turning into a diary so what the heck, why not (haha). On Tuesday, the 18th, it was my best friends birthday and I conveniently had the day off from work. Monday night I took her to see Alessia Cara at the San Francisco Masonic and spent the night at her place to volunteer teach an art class to her fourth grade class for an hour on Tuesday, the day of her birthday. Boy, are kids exhausting! It was a fun day overall and I was glad to visit her as well.
